Brilliant Birds and How to Paint Them!
🐦✨ A Wild Hearts Art Club Big Garden Bird Watch Special! ✨🐦 This January, Wild Hearts Art Club is celebrating RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch 2026 with TWO extra-special art sessions dedicated to the small, feathery pals living right outside our windows 🪶👀 The sessions are divided by age, so you can book the one that suits your Wild Heart best ⬇️ 📅 When? Sunday 18th January 🐤 11:00–12:00 | Ages 4–7 🦉 12:30– 1:30 | Ages 8–11 📍 Where? The Picturedrome (Inside, by Honest Crust Pizza) Across both sessions, children will explore garden birds through paint, cardboard and sketching 🎨✏️ They’ll learn how artists notice colour, texture, movement and character — and how to bring that to life on the page (or as a puppet with strong opinions). 🖍️ Ages 4–7 | Bird Puppets! Children will create bird puppets using cardboard and paint, exploring bold colours, patterns and textures through hands-on, imaginative making 🪶✂️ Think flappy wings, chunky beaks and birds with attitude. ✏️ Ages 8–11 | Painting Movement & Mood Children will use sketching and paint to capture the movement and personality of birds — learning how artists suggest life and energy, even when the subject won’t sit still 🐦💨 This session builds close observation, expressive mark-making and creative confidence. 🎨✨ This is art that’s playful, confidence-boosting and gloriously process-led. No pressure. No perfection. Just proper looking, making — and a bit of joyful mess. 🐦 Both Sessions Include: 🖌️ All materials provided 💛 A relaxed, welcoming space led by an experienced creative facilitator ✨ Process over product. Always. Just bring curiosity, imagination and clothes that don’t mind a splash of paint 🎨🧼
